Why Is It So Hard For Student Success - 959 Words

Why is it so hard for student to be successful in college? In the book â€Å"Back to School† by Mike Rose, Rose talks about some of the different obstacle student’s faces in college that prevents them from being successful. Financial support plays a big part in student success. Money plays a huge factor in student success. Student that fail generally are the ones who are unable to pay school tuition. If students cannot afford the necessary equipment they need to succeed then they will have a hard time going through college. School supplies such as books and computers are a necessary for student success. Students need books and computers to be able to study in order to be successful. Student would go to college for a semester and drop out because they do not have money to pay for school. It is also hard to find jobs to help pay their way through college. Government don’t subsidize enough grand for student to go to college, instead they make it more difficult with loan subsidies. Possible solutions for student success are government subsidies, book vouchers and private endowment. One solution to better student’s success is if the government gives more subsidies and limit the amount of money students is able to borrow for college tuition, then it would minimize the financial burdens for college students.
